Our Classes

Sharpen your knives and your skills with one of our Houston-based classes to learn how to create beautiful edible art like Su! During the summer, classes will be held twice per month. During Spring and Summer, classes will be held twice per month, and once a month in the Fall. For questions about dates and locations, contact Su@edibledesignsbysu.com. Signing Up for Classes

Our class schedule is flexible- all classes can be scheduled depending on student and instructor availability!

​Get started with 3 simple steps:

1. Choose the class to fit your interest and skill level
2. Fill out the form below or email or call us with us times, dates and the number of people who want to take the class
3. Stay tuned for an email or call from us to schedule your class

You must bring your own fruit and/or vegetables unless indicated in the class description.
​Please bring your own carving tools.  
​
Please bring a check made out to "Edible Designs by Su" to the class you attend. ​
​Introduction Carving Class: 10
​
This class will allow beginners to practice their carving skills and covers Edible Design Carving a variety of leaves and flowers with vegetables and fruit. The class includes lectures, demonstrations and hands-on practice of several simple carving techniques.

Please bring:
  • 1 smooth skin cucumber 
  • 1 Apple of any kind 
  • 1 medium or large carrot
  • 1 firm unripe cantaloupe
Advanced Carving Class: 12

Advanced Carving 12 is geared towards skilled 
carvers and will focus on Edible Design vegetables
​arrangement.  

Please bring:
  • 5-8 red radishes
  • 1 or 2 medium or large firm carrots
  • 1 firm smooth skin cucumber
  • 1 firm smooth skin zucchini
  • 3-5 mixed color small or medium sweet pepper
  • 10- 12 cherry tomatoes
Advanced Class: 15 

Carvers will practice techniques and take things to the next level by carving fruit into a variety roses mixed with leaves. Edible Design Show piece.

Please bring: 
  • 1 unripe cantaloupe 
  • 1 unripe medium sized honey dew melon

​Advanced Carving Class: 11 

Advanced Carving 11 is geared towards skilled 
carvers and will focus on Edible Design fruit 
​arrangement. 

Please bring:
  • 1 unripe cantaloupe
  • 1 unripe honeydew 1 or 2 medium 
  • or large, firm and smooth 
  • 2 firm Apples, red and green 
  • 1/2 pound red or green grapes

Advanced Carving Class: 14
​
Skilled carvers will learn how to turn cantaloupes and melons into gorgeous flower ​centerpieces in this class.  

Please bring:
  • 1 unripe cantaloupe
  • 1 unripe honeydew melon





Advanced Class: 16 

This class is for carvers looking to impress! Students will turn a watermelon into a beautiful Edible Design floral centerpiece, perfect for all occasions! 
​



Please bring:
  • 1 medium sized firm watermelon 


Advanced Class: 17 

Take things to the next level with this advanced carving class. Practice carving Edible Design techniques and learn how to carve creatures including butterflies, birds, and fish. Great for theme parties! 

Please bring: 
  • 2-3 large carrots 
  • 1 firm not yet ripped whole pineapple with leaves attached.
